Stitch Fix Review No. 6

Hello Hello!!

This is my favorite time of the year, so I am super excited to share this review with you guys. I don’t know about you, but when summer starts transitioning to fall all I want to do is go school clothes shopping- it’s okay to do that as an adult, right? Thank god for Stitch Fix because I have absolutely no time to go to the mall. Don’t get me wrong, I just love summer and I am going to miss it like crazy, but there’s nothing like putting on the first pair of leggings, boots and a cozy sweater after months of wearing tank tops and shorts. August in Seattle is usually HOT, but I am ready for some fall clothes. I am so excited because I signed up for Stitch Fix at the end of spring and all I have recieved from them so far has been summer stuff, and warm clothes are my favorite!

This time around my review is going to be a little bit different than the previous reviews, So I apologize up front that I wont have the super professional I-Phone pictures taken by my husband in my back yard, because (spoiler alert!) I sold 4 of my 5 items online and didn’t have the time to get some decent pictures taken before I had to get the items shipped off to their new homes.

When I requested this “fix” I told my lovely stylist Emily to bring on the fall clothes! I told her I wanted some colored skinnies, and some great sweaters or a jacket. When I took a peek at my fix (before it arrived) I had mixed emotions, to be completely honest, but there were a few items I was excited about. But since this is my 6th fix, I knew not to judge until the items came and I tried them on for myself. When I got my box in the mail and opened it up I found out that my normal stylist Emily was on vacation and this time I was being styled by the fabulous Lucy. It all made sense to me at that point because I had a feeling when I peeked that these didn’t really seem like items that Emily would send me, although Lucy did a great job and she left me the sweetest note. Lucy if you are reading this- on the Facebook B/S/T group ladies were going crazy over my fix and I name dropped you to all of them- Sorry girlfriend, but your workload is about to double! If you are unfamiliar with Stitch Fix I’ll give a explination of what its all about at the end of this post along with a link for you so sign up for it yourself! I am not paid by Stitch Fix and all opinions are mine, but if you sign up and recieve a fix using my link I will get a small credit applied towards my next purchase. Ok, lets get started shall we?

  1. Nine West Acesso Ankle Wrapped Bootie Size 6.5 $124.00 Dark Grey (Sold)

IMG_4445IMG_4440

I love love love booties, I actually just purchased a pair of brown leather Vince Camuto booties in the Nordstrom anniversary sale (which are STILL on back order). These booties kind of missed the mark with me. I love the look of them, but when fall comes around in Seattle, the rain comes along with it- and keeps coming for about 10 months after that. I can’t really picture myself running around in the fall/winter in these suede booties with out breaking an ankle or having to replace a hip. I would rather have a black or grey leather pair with a more stable heel. Although these booties are just adorable and in fantasy land where when it’s cold and rainy I still look look all cute and dressy on the daily, I have to sadly face reality that nope, I’m not that girl I fantasize about being. #CanIgetawaywithwearingasnuggytoworktoday? You know what though, in all seriousness this is exactly why I love Stitch Fix so much because when fall and winter come this year, you will not see me wearing crappy jeans and a Seahawks hoodie everyday, I will be comfy and freaking stylish! ( Go Hawks! )

2. Skies are Blue Avena Split Neck Top Size XS $54.00 Blue (Sold)

IMG_4438

Skies are Blue Avena Split Neck Top

This top just screams fall to me, its plaid, cozy, and long so it can be worn with leggings. But a reaccuring problem with me and Stitch Fix is that a lot of their extra small tops are just a little too big. I normally wear an XS in the real world, sometimes an XXS, but it seems like their sizing runs a little bit big. Had this top fit me better I probably would have kept it, because the material was smooth, soft and amazing, but its off to a new home.

3. Just Black Blake Scissor Cut Hem Skinny Jean Size 2p $88.00 Fushia (Sold)

IMG_4448

Just Black Blake Scissor Cut Hem Skinny Jean- Fushia

I LOVED every single thing about these jeans, EXCEPT for the scissor cut hem. Just cant do it. I am only 5′ tall, and my entire life I have had so much trouble finding jeans that are short enough for my legs. I spend a lot of money getting my jeans hemmed- just so they dont have crappy cut hems that roll up when you wash them, so for these to have the cut bottoms and be $88.00- I just couldn’t do it. When I tried them on though, they fit me like a glove. They fit perfect in every single way, and my husband fell in love with them. I was soo close to keeping them despite the hem but a girl wanted to buy them with the shoes and the plaid shirt, so I passed them along to her. In my notes to my stylist I begged her to send me another pair with a normal hem, because those jeans were amazing, and my husband will not stop talking about them – Please Emily If you don’t find me another pair, I might be requesting a “just got served divorce papers” fix. So I am counting on you to save my marriage- but no pressure or anything! (Pictured above with the plaid shirt)

4. RD Style Rhonda Faux Leather Jacket Size XS $78.00 Black (Kept)

IMG_4457

RD Style Rhonda Faus Leather Jacket- Heck Yes!

This (Faux) Leather Jacket are what dreams are made of. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I am hoping that there are A LOT more great Stitch Fix jackets in my future. I know a lot of you ladies out there are all about the shoes, but thats how I am with jackets. The material is like butter, its fitted, and the top of the jacket buttons up into a turtle neck type look. I know that I will be wearing this all through the fall and winter. Again the fit is slightly big but not too much, and on really cold days I will be able to wear a thick sweater underneith it. Love this Jacket! Now I just need a brown leather one to replace the one I got at Target 5 years ago that is literally falling apart, but I refuse to give it up!

5. Fate Howardson Striped Lightweight Sweater Size XS $68.00 Gray (Sold)

There were so many things about this sweater that I loved. I loved the style, the stripes, it was the perfect length and the material was incredibly soft and amazing. My 2 issues were with this sweater were that it was slightly big, not too bad but just slightly, and it had the scissor cut hems at the sleeves, neckline and bottom. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I want a sewn hem. Is it that tough for a girl to just get a little stitching on her clothing. Especially from a company called “Stitch Fix”? Cut hems just scream cheap to me, and for $68.00 I want to have stitched edges. I had to try this on a few times because oh man it was so comfy, and I tried so hard to convince myself to keep it. If it didn’t have the cut hems, this would be hanging in my closet right now.

This fix may not have been a total home run, but I have no hard feelings. I still love Stitch Fix, and I think that Lucy did a great job styling me. That leather jacket made it all worth it, and you guys those fushia jeans! I already miss them. I am going to cry if they don’t send me another pair in my next fix. I wish that either Stitch Fix would offer extra extra smalls in tops, or that the sizing was more spot on. Overall I am super happy, and since I was able to sell the 4 items, and keep the fifth I got the 25% discount on everything- a total win! I also scheduled a fix to come in another 2 weeks to make up for this one…ooops, My husband really wants me to get more fushia pants though!

If you want to learn more about Stitch Fix and how it works I will give you a brief explination. First you sign up – if you use my link and order a fix, I get a small clothing credit, as you will too if you sign up to pass along to your friends and family. You fill out a profile on everything from sizing to budget to lifestyle, write a note to your stylist with what your looking for and link up a pinterest board- optional but recomended- to show your personal stylist what kind of clothes you like and need, then you set a date for you fix to get shipped to you. Once you recieve your clothes you have 3 days to try everything on and you send back what you don’t want (free shipping both ways- yay!). Or better yet, if you keep all 5 items, you get a 25% discount on everything. Easy Peasy! Best of all is that your not stuck in a “subscription service” you schedule fixes for your personal needs. You can get one and be done, or you can get them weekly if your a baller.

So what do you guys think? Did I make the right choices? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below, and I would also love to hear what you love about Stitch Fix, and what your favorite items you have received are?!? If you haven’t tried it out yet, Seriously, just do it already!! It is so much fun, and you really don’t have anything to lose (except for your husband if you sell the jeans that he loves.) To make it super easy on you I have added a link right below here if you want to get started! Please Like, Comment, Share, or Pin your little beautiful hearts out.

Until next time- ( or next week when my next box is arriving!!) #sorrynotsorry

Stitch Fix Review No. 5

Welcome back! It’s that (fun!) time of the month again, my monthly (or sometime’s semi-monthly.. shhh!) fix is here!! Last time I changed stylists, and was so happy with Emily- my new stylist, so I was excited to see what she had in store for me this time around. When I ordered this fix, I told Emily in my note that I was looking for colored jeans, and fun summer tops in NEON or Neutrals. If you don’t know what Stitch Fix is then you can read any of my other Stitch Fix blogs by clicking Here Here or Here and I explain the process of how it all works, and if you found yourself here reading tons of Stitch Fix blogs trying to decide if you sign up or not, just do it already! At the bottom of this post is a link for you to sign up with to make it super easy, but more about that later.

Ok lets just jump in feet first and see what I got this time, shall we?

  1. Skies are Blue Jemma Crochet Front Knit Top: Size XS: $54.00

IMG_4321

Top: Skies are Blue Jemma Crochet Front Knit Top / Jewelry: Rocks Box

This top is simple but the crochet front makes it fun, with out feeling like your great grandma’s couch. It’s a great shirt for both work and weekends, summer and under a great  sweater or jacket in the fall/winter. The off white color basically makes it the perfect shirt for any pair of jeans that you throw it’s way. It’s just a tad looser than I would like, but not to the point of sending it back. I’m definitely seeing a trend with Stitch Fix: Their clothes always run big, and I wish that they sold clothes in XXS. Although they do offer Petite and Maternity. For you fabulous Plus Size ladies in the world, Stitch Fix will be offering plus sizes sometime early next year, I’ve heard. Total Keeper

IMG_4316

2. Lila Ryan Dorianna Skinny Jean (olive): Size 4p: $98

IMG_4320

Jeans: Lila Ryan Dorianna Skinny Jean

Okay so I have to admit that I’m a “Peeker” when it comes to my Stitch Fix’s. If you are familiar with Stitch Fix then I’m sure you know what I am talking about. If you have the Stitch Fix app on your I-PHONE-(only) once your box of goodies is shipped you have the opportunity to see what they are sending to you before it arrives. Some people in the world have this funny disorder called “self control” but I’m definitely one of those weirdos. Anyways, when I peeked at my shipment, I had mixed emotions on everything, including the color of these pants. But… When they showed up and I put them on, I swear that it was love at first zip and button. I mentioned above that some of the XS Stitch Fix tops seem to run a little big, but every single pair of jeans they have sent me have fit my body perfectly. I got my “fix” last week and I have already wore these jeans 3 times. I LOVE them. They are cropped too, which is hard for me to find because I am so short. But I can’t say enough about these suckers. And apparently this color of green is going to be one of the “it” colors of this fall. THANK YOU Emily!!!! – 200 percent keeper

IMG_4317

3. Papermoon Westham Ribbon Strap Knit Tank: XS : $38

IMG_4178

Top: Papermoon Ribbon Strap Knit Tank / Pants: Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean (from a previous fix )

So this tank for me was so/so. I like this color of it, but I wasn’t super excited about it. I figured if I was planning on keeping everything else in the fix it would be cheaper for me to keep it and get the 25% discount on everything, then to send it back. On Facebook there are a bunch of Stitch Fix Buy/Sell/Trade groups, so I was actually able to pass this shirt along to someone else who will love it more than I did. There are thousands and thousands of women in the United States who are a part of these groups on Facebook and a lot of women will usually keep all 5 items for the discount, and sell the items they don’t like and pass along the discount to other women. I have purchased some really great items through these boards, and also sold items that I realized I wasn’t super in love with after keeping. It’s a total Win-Win for everyone. – Kept and Sold

4. Skies are Blue Magda Lace V Back Blouse: Size XS: $54.00

IMG_4323

Skies are Blue Magda Lace V back Blouse

IMG_4326

A big thanks to my wonderful husband for letting me know that the tags were hanging out!

IMG_4324

Jewelry: Rocks Box

I love the color of this blouse, and it definitely fits with my neon theme that I was going for. But like the first blouse, I wish it was just a tad bit smaller. I know that I will wear it, as it is a great work blouse, and the details on the back of this blouse are just gorgeous. But I am still on the fence because of the fit. I’m thinking of putting it up for sale to see if there are any bites, and if not then I will have no problem keeping and wearing this shirt. The color is amazing, and it can make’s my skin look like I just took a trip to Hawaii.

5. Greylin Elfie Crochet Detail Blouse: Size XS: $108

IMG_4313

Top:Greylin Elfie Crochet Detail Blouse

IMG_4312

Pants: Topshop Cigarette (from Trunk Club)

This halter top is adorable. I love this color, the fabric is nice and thick and is double layered. It’s probably one of the highest quality items I have received from Stitch Fix. I know the price tag is pretty high, but with the 25% discount, and selling the other top, I was able to splurge a little bit on it. This top is super versatile, you can wear it to work underneath a sweater, for a night out with the girls, or with a pair of shorts running around town. It’s flowy in all the right ways, and totally sexy with out really revealing anything besides your shoulders. – Total keeper

IMG_4311

Jewelry: Rocks Box

Okay kids, that sums up my fifth box from Stitch Fix. Since I first signed up for Stitch Fix a few months ago, I have never dressed better in my life. It has totally transformed my closet, and opened up the doors for Trunk Club, and Rocks Box like a gateway drug. But I have never been happier. I finally feel like I dress my age, with work appropriate clothing and am actually so excited to get up in the morning and pick out my outfit for the day. When I look good, I feel good, I’m happier and my day is usually better. Don’t you guys feel this way too?

A little gift that I have for you guys since I have signed up for Rocks Box- Its a service were you spend 19.99 a month and they send you 3 pieces of jewelry to rent, and if you love a piece, or all three you have the option to purchase at a discounted rate. Every month they also give you a ten dollar credit towards any jewelry that you might want to purchase. You also fill out a wish list of items you want them to send, and they choose from your wish list. If you click this link——-> Sign up for Rocks Box Here  Not only will you get your first month free, you can cancel after that if you want so you aren’t out any money if you choose to cancel, but get to wear some fabulous jewelry for few weeks. Also if you want to sign up for Stitch Fix, there will be a banner under this paragraph for you to do so. I promise you wont regret it! Full disclosure, if you sign up with my banner I will get a small clothing credit and that helps me afford to keep doing Stitch fix Blogs as well.

Please Like, Share, Comment, or Pin anything in this post. If your curious about Trunk Club, I also have 2 blogs about that as well. Hope you guys have a great day, and I will be back soon.

Until next time!

XOXO

Stitch Fix Review No. 4

IMG_3648

Welcome back my lovely ladies, it’s that time again. Time for me to awkwardly try on clothes and post the pictures to the internet so my kid(s) can make fun of me in the future! Whoop Whoop! This time around I asked for a new stylist because I felt like my original stylist just wasn’t right for me, and you know what? Thank god, because I want to kiss my new stylist, she is amaze-balls! Omg I can’t believe I just wrote that. Okay either it’s too early in the morning, or I just need to get to the good stuff so I don’t give my kid(s) anymore material to blackmail me with.

If you have never heard of Stitch Fix (where the heck have you been, Seriously?) I will give you a very brief rundown of how it works, but if you want more details, you can go to my first blog, or just click on the link and figure it out on your own(If you click my link, I get a small clothing credit to support my Stitch Fix addiction-Please enable me:). I promise, it’s easy! Basically you sign up, answer a series of questions about style, size, and lifestyle. Link up a Pinterest style profile- not required, but recommended. Pick a date for your “fix” to be shipped to you. Receive the clothes and take 3 days to try everything on. Send back anything you don’t want in the prepaid envelope, or if you decide to keep everything- Like I usually do(spoiler alert!), you get 25% off of everything. Then you can either schedule your next fix, or put it on hold until you decide you want them to send you more clothes, shoes, and/or jewelry. (Oh and feel free to pin anything you like in this post, or any others if you want your stylist to send you the same, or something similar.)

First Item up is the PAPERMOON Tamice Halter Knit top size XS- Kept

IMG_3665

Top: Papermoon Tamice Halter Knit Top

IMG_3670

Jeans: Level 99 Sandy Bootcut Jean

IMG_3669

Love this halter top! I’m super into neutrals, black and white right now, so this is hitting me in my sweet spot. Don’t mind my crappy bra, I couldn’t find my strapless, so I’m wearing an old bathing suit top that doesn’t fit- Bad decision. Now this shirt isn’t very work appropriate, that is A-ok with me! I love that it can be dressed up or down. I can picture wearing it with some white shorts and a jean jacket if it gets cold. I love me a great halter top, so this is going strait into my closet.

Second Item: Level 99 Sandy Bootcut Jean size 4p

IMG_3668

Shirt: Papermoon Tamice Halter Knit Top

IMG_3664

Jeans: Level 99 Sandy Bootcut Jean

Okay, so I swear these jeans were made just for me. I have always loved bootcut jeans, I’m a 90’s Girl in my heart, so the bootcut trend never left my closet. I’m super short, so the length is perfect, which for me is super hard to find. The material has the perfect amount of stretch, the wash is dark, and there is no whiskering so these are the perfect jeans for date night, or running errands on a Sunday. These will be worn probably every other day, at least.

Third Item up is LOVEAPPELLA Dolli Mesh Detail Knit Top size XS- Kept

IMG_3649

Top: Loveappella Dolli Mesh Detail Knit Top

IMG_3650

Jeans: Level 99 Sandy Bootcut Jean

IMG_3653

This top has black and white stripes, and if you have read any of my other blogs, you will know that if anything comes within 10 feet of me, and has black and white stripes, I’m keeping it. This top is the perfect top for days where you don’t want to suck your stomach in all day. The mesh detail and cutout in the back take this plain jane shirt, to super duper fun. My new stylist is just soo freaking amazing, I want to die.

Fourth item up is Everly Jonetta Romper size XS- Kept

IMG_3672

Romper: Everly Jonetta Romper

IMG_3674

Look, you can wear a beach hat with it!

IMG_3673

My husband telling me to be sexy. Has he read my blog?

This romper arose such excitement in me when I pulled it out of my Stitch Fix box, that I had to immediately put it on. Warning, this sucker is HARD to get on and off, like really hard. But I managed to somehow figure it out, and am making a mental note to NEVER wear this out drinking or else I will probably pee my pants. But at the end of the day it is so worth it because it is just the most adorable romper I have ever seen, perfect length for my tree trunk legs, and it has a hidden button so that way the ladies up stairs stay where they’re supposed to. Note: The Pink belt is mine and doesn’t come with the romper.

Last but not least are BCBGeneration Finlyn Lace Up Sandals size 6.5- Kept

IMG_3675

So again, if you have read my other blogs, you will know that I have been looking for some gladiators, and sent back the black ones that came in my Trunk Club. These lace up sandals are brown and gold, and a little more versatile then the black ones that went all the way up to my knee’s. I kind of wish these ones were black, but I do like the brown and gold, and I feel like these will be a lot easier to wear with shorts, jeans, or dresses. I am also kind of regretting sending back those Steve Madden Lace up Flats, but mental note: order some online, for cheaper.

Okay girls and boys, that sums up my 4th Stitch Fix! I’m obsessed with my new stylist EMILY, She sent me the sweetest personalized note, and I just feel like if we met in person, we might be best friends. I emailed Stitch Fix immediately and told them that I want EMILY to style ALL of my boxes. (Not like That!) This one was my favorite by far, so far, and the one that felt like it was put together just for me. I am so happy that I signed up for Stitch Fix, and if you want to sign up too, you can just click the link below here, I promise, you won’t regret it! Until next time,

XOXO,

Sara

IMG_3671

No Junk in this Trunk!

Okay, I know what your thinking… is this going to be a whole post dedicated to her butt? Well Sorry to disappoint, but no, it’s not. But for a second I will tell you a little about my butt just incase you clicked on this post for that reason. I do have a little junk in my trunk, I would classify my rear as more of a wide load then a bubble butt. I got my dad’s genes in the baby got back department and sadly, his butt gene’s weren’t the best to pass onto a girl, but I’ve learned to work with what I was given. My sister got the good butt gene’s, and I have always envied her perfect bubble butt. Anyway’s enough about that, Now it’s time to get into what this post is really supposed to be about….

TRUNK CLUB!!!

If you are unfamiliar with Trunk Club, it’s not a club that’s dedicated to the glorious back side. Its actually somewhat similar to Stitch Fix, but also different in some totally fabulous ways. Trunk Club is owned by Nordstrom. When you sign up by clicking on someone’s link (such as my own) you automatically get assigned their same stylist. So if you do this, make sure the person’s link your clicking on is happy with their stylist. You can also sign up via the website or app. But when you do it this way, someone out there who is a member of Trunk Club will miss out on getting the $50.00 referral credit that they receive if someone uses their link. So please, if you don’t click mine, at least click on someone else’s so that way someone in the world is saving $50.00. Then you can scratch off your good deed of the day/week/month or even year, because I guarantee that you will be making someone’s day/week/month/ or year, if they see that little $50.oo gift sitting in their account.

Okay once you initially sign up and get set up with a stylist, your stylist will reach out to you with in the next few days. You can communicate with them by phone, email, or app. If your like me, and hate talking to anyone on the phone due to a disease called “I can’t talk on the phone, please text or email me ONLY anxiety” then, don’t fret, you will never have to  awkwardly talk on the phone to your stylist. Your stylist will ask you a bunch of detailed questions, regarding style, fit, lifestyle and so much more, to get a sense of what you are looking to fill up your closet with while draining your bank account, or maxing out multiple credit cards- Please note, if you are not a total baller, and don’t have an unlimited budget, make sure you tell your stylist the budget range you are looking to stay in, Please do not forget this! A few days after that you will receive a preview of your Trunk, which is totally awesome, (Stitch fix doesn’t do this, but that’s okay too, it’s fun both ways) Since Trunk Club is generally more expensive than Stitch fix- Due to higher quality items, more items in your trunk, and access to premium top notch brands that Nordstrom carries. Once you preview your Trunk, you have the option to remove any items that you don’t want them to send to you, and generally your stylist will add more items to your trunk before mailing it to you. From my research, most Trunks have an average of 15 items in them. This can range from ALL types of clothing, shoes, accessories of all sorts including, but not limited to: bags, sunglasses, jewelry, scarves, hats and really, the sky’s the limit. My trunk started with a total of 10 items, I had her remove 3 of those 10 items, which now I wish I would have screen shot them because I can’t remember what I had her take out and why.. I was hoping that she would add more tops, a blazer, and a casual dress or romper, but she ended up only sending me the 7 remaining items, so were calling this a 2 part trunk with this being part one. She’s currently preparing part 2 of my trunk, but she wanted me to receive this one first to make sure that all the sizing and style of clothing was what I was looking for.

Okay, now lets dive into this Trunk together and see what I got, shall we?!?

FullSizeRender

Isn’t this the most beautiful box you could ever see at your doorstep?

Now, Lets take a look at the inside…..

FullSizeRender-1

Hard to see from the pic, but there’s 2 shoe boxes, and a neatly wrapped up stack of clothes.

So when I was describing what I wanted to achieve from Trunk Club, I told my amazing stylist, Sharitty Diaz, that I wanted to add “grown up” pieces to my closet but that are young fresh and stylish, basic closet staples. I mentioned that I was a sucker for black and white stripes, neutral colors, and needed some nice jeans- especially white skinnies, but that I want to add various jean styles to my closet. I wear jeans pretty much every day of the week, with the occasional dress or skirt when I’m feeling extra fancy. My main point to her was that my style icon was Kristin Cavallari, and if she were to just google “Kristin Cavallari style” I would want anything that she found on the internet of her wearing. I am OBSESSED with K.C.’s style and I feel like she should just let me go shopping in her closet, or maybe we can even borrow each other’s clothes? I have also mentioned this exact same thing over and over to my Stitch Fix stylist, and it’s amazing how much of a difference it has been between my Trunk Club box, and my Stitch Fix boxes.

IMG_3307

Jeans:PAIGE DENIM Verdugo Ankle Skinny Jeans Ultra White($189.)      Top: JOIE Amarey B Linen Knit Top ($128)     Shoes: CONVERSE Chuck Taylor “Shoreline” Sneaker ($49.95)

First 3 Items: I have been asking for white jeans from Stitch Fix ever since I signed up but haven’t received any yet. I am so happy that Sharitty sent these to me because these jeans are Amazing!! I know the price tag is super high, but for the last few years, I’ve just been buying $20.00 Old Navy Jeans, or used jeans. I’m at a point in my life where I am able to/ and want to splurge a little in the clothing department( but don’t get me wrong, I also love a good sale, and my Target and Old Navy items too). When I review this box and send back the items I am not keeping, I’m going to ask her to keep my price point a little lower in the future, unless she finds something absolutely amazing. I’ve never owned Paige jeans before, and I am in love! These white jeans are not see through at all, fit me like a glove, and hide all of my cellulite and dreaded saddle bags- These suckers are working their ass off every time I wear them. Totally keeping these!

Next Item up is the tank top. I love this top, I love it’s versatility, and its simplicity, but I just can’t justify spending &128.00 on a simple tank top, and It kills me to send it back, but I just have to. The converse are something that I have been lusting over for a while, at first she had the regular old white converse in my preview. Which was like she was reading my mind, because I was going to specifically ask her to send me some, but forgot when we had our conversation. When I did my preview and saw these, I emailed her and asked her to switch them out for the “shoreline” converse, which are slip on’s and she  made the switch with in 5 minutes. ( Another thing that makes Trunk Club so AWESOME!) The Converse are just as wonderful as I hoped they would be, so those are for sure keepers too!

IMG_3315

Jeans: FRAME Le Color Rip Skinny Jeans Blanc ($199)

IMG_3314

Same top and shoes listed above

IMG_3300

Can we just take a second to appreciate how adorable my daughter CLARA is?

Fourth item: These Frame jeans are like silky butter on my legs. When I put them on I knew that I would have to keep these because I did not want to take these babies off, like ever. The front of each leg has rips up and down them, but the quality of the material, it’s hard to describe but you can tell that the rips aren’t going to get any bigger over time. Unless I wear them while drinking too much wine and get a little cray cray, I guess anything is possible. These jeans are incredibly flattering, the rips make them fun and unique. When deciding what to keep or send back, I tried to find each of these items cheaper online ( I couldn’t find any of the items for a better price anywhere else.) When I got to these jeans, google showed me that pretty much every celebrity whose style I lust after, owns these exact jeans, which pretty much makes me a celebrity too in my book, so I took off the tags, and hung up my new best friends in my closet.

Jeans:7 FOR ALL MANKIND Taylorless Bootcut Jeans New York Dark ($198)

IMG_3320

Top: ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH (already owned)

IMG_3317

Fifth Item: I LOVE these jeans, they are exactly what I was hoping to get, since I want to venture out of wearing skinny jeans every single day. I grew up in the 90’s so I love me a great bootcut or flare jean. The only problem with these are that they are about 5 inches too long. I am wearing 5 inch heels in the picture. I know that I could get them hemmed, but because I was already keeping the other 2 pairs of jeans, hemming a good 4-5 inches off might compromise the look of the bootcut-ness?  Regretfully I have to send these beautiful jeans back, But I may ask my stylist if they come in a 30″ inseam.

Shoes: STEVE MADDEN Sammson Lace Up Gladiatior Sandal ($89.95)

IMG_3326

Dress: FREE PEOPLE Emily Crochet Dress (128)

Sixth and Seventh Items: To be honest when I previewed my trunk, These two Items were the ones that arose the most excitement inside of me. I have been wanting gladiator sandals for so long, and these were everything I thought I ever wanted. When I tried them on they didn’t quite look right, the top part where they tie is supposed to wrap around your calves a few times before being tied in the front. The tie part on me was super close to my knee and just didn’t look like they were supposed to. Also when I really thought about it,  I couldn’t really imagine myself wearing these with shorts, so I realistically don’t think I would get as much use out of them as I would like to. The dress was the exact same realization, I loved the look and the “thought of wearing” this dress so much, but I could never wear it to work, and when I looked at the pictures of the dress on, it didn’t look flattering on my body. I wanted to love it, but sadly, it didn’t meet my high expectations.

My first impression of Trunk Club is like my first impression of meeting my husband, scared to death at first but a few days in I knew that we were meant to be! My stylist absolutely nailed the style that I was going for, and I can’t wait to see what she sends me in part 2. I think that Trunk Club and Stitch Fix are similar but totally different in ways that make them both so much fun and rewarding. I would recommend Trunk Club to anyone and everyone looking to add some amazing style to their daily wardrobe. I even talked to my stylist, because I am in a wedding in September and all the bridesmaids get to pick out their own dresses- so my stylist is going to send me a bridesmaid dress trunk soon as well. Seriously, How cool is THAT! On a side note, my husband just signed up for Trunk Club as well after seeing how happy I was with my stylist, so I am very interested in seeing what he receives because, OMG he is incredibly picky for wearing wakeboard brand tee shirts and jeans everyday!

I would Love Love Love for you guys to leave me a comment to let me know what your thoughts are. As always, these opinions are mine alone, I am not paid by Trunk Club, and if you are looking to do your good deed of the day/week/month/year you can click on my link right here—>

Stitch Fix Review # 3

IMG_2994

This is My face when My Stitch Fix Box shows up!

Well Hello there! As promised, I am doing my 3rd reveal of my most favorite thing in the whole wide world right now. Right behind wine, and coffee, well, and gangster rap. This is the Fix that mysteriously got delivered in Louisiana (according to the super accurate, never ever wrong company, FED EX) but magically showed up on my door step the following day. (Of course this was after I called FED EX and was super polite and professional because I wasn’t at all worried that MY wonderful clothes were plopped on someone else doorstep, to be worn by god knows who) But they found their way home to mama.

Before I get started, I will give you a brief explanation of how the whole Stitch fix addiction gets started.

Step one: Fill out your style profile online, set your budget, sizes, color preferences, the whole nine yards. Write a note to your stylist and link up your Pinterest board so that way she has a good idea of what styles you are looking for.

Step two: Order your first “fix.” I promise you that nothing in life takes longer then receiving that first box. Oh the anticipation! You will get charged a $20.00 styling fee, but it will be credited to any purchase you make from the box. So you should always keep at least one item so that way your not throwing $20.00 away. (That could buy you 4 bottles of wine!) Now if you keep all 5 items you get 25% off of EVERYTHING. Yes, I’m totally serious, I would NEVER ever lie to you!

Step three: Try everything on! You get 3 business days to try everything on, in the comfort of you own bedroom, with clothing item’s that you already own. What ever you decide you don’t want, you just put in your pre-paid envelope and ship it right back to them. Your only charged for what you keep, and after each fix you rate each item so that way your stylist and Stitch Fix gets to know you better each time. The only thing left to do, is to order your next fix, if you choose to.* This is in no way a “subscription” service. You can do it as much or as little as you would like!

I should also note that I am not paid by Stitch Fix and all of these opinions are my own! But…. I will get a referral credit if you click on my pretty little link located right below.

Ok so now for the fun part! Lets rip into this box together and see what we got, how does that sound?

First Item (drum roll please!!): Steven (Steve madden’s fancier shoe name) Gennna Suede Lace up flat in Mint. Size 6.5

IMG_2979

First impression: My heart is pitter pattering, I am in LOVE. I actually asked my stylist for some lace up flats, and boy did she deliver. These suckers are so comfy and amazing I want to cry with joy! I am already imagining how wonderful my life will be now with my new best friends. I’m imagining all the fun places were going to go, trouble were going to get into, and amazing parties and super cool adult stuff that I am going to do now that I have these guys by my side. Then… I looked at the price. $119.00! And then I looked again because this could not possibly be right. At that moment, I knew that all of my dreams and aspirations were headed straight down the crapper. In my last 2 “fixes” I kept all 5 items, and I knew with this one I would have to start being a lot more selective, or else my family would be living in a 5th wheel in the Walmart parking lot. I really had to contemplate this one. I did a quick online search and I found the same shoes in different colors ( I think the mint might be exclusive to Stitch Fix) online for half the price. I knew at that moment their fate was sealed. I had to bid them farewell. (RETURNED)

Second Item: Skies are Blue Swanley knit tank in Red. Size XS

IMG_2986IMG_2987IMG_2988

When I first pulled this shirt out of the box I was thinking, Finally! some stripes! I love the twisted back detail of the back, but when I put this top on, I was swimming in it!! Seriously, I don’t know how it can possibly be an XS because it is so incredibly ginormous. I started wondering if I could wear it as a dress, but since I’m not into showing off my lady parts, I had to flash it the peace sign and send it on its merry way.$38.00 (RETURNED)

Third Item: Loveappella Garnet knit Maxi Dress in pink. Size XSP

IMG_2980First impression: I HATE the Print, I feel like I would wear this to match my dog’s neck bandana when I pick her up from the groomer. Since I’m not looking to be twinsies with my dog any time soon, I knew instantly that it had to go back home to the Stitch Fix warehouse to be loved by someone else. But in true Stitch Fix fashion, I knew I had to at least try it on. The material is buttery soft, and the length is just perfect for my 5′ height. I couldn’t help but wonder that if she had sent this in a solid color I might have kept it. I think it would really be a perfect pregnant dress because it is very loose in the stomach area. I started to get scared that I accidentally marked “pregnant” on my profile, or that my stylist knows something I don’t. So I did what any normal red blooded American girl would do in my position, I downed a (three) glass(es) of wine and got naked.$74.00 (RETURNED)

Item four: Adrianna Papell Janett V-neck Dress in blue. Size 2P

IMG_2981IMG_2982

First Impression: Ok, this dress is silk, and to be honest I don’t really know how I feel about silk. I think I’m scared of silk. I don’t think I have ever owned an actual clothing item made from silk in my life. Pulling this out of the box I had mixed feelings about the print. I do like the colors, but I’m not in love with the actual print itself. When I tried it on, it fit me like a glove! Oh man did this fit goooood! But since I have nothing that requires a silk dress penciled in on my calendar, I knew this one wasn’t a keeper either. Maybe if our paths crossed at a different point in my life… but right now, it just wasn’t in the cards for me and this silky dress. $104.00 (RETURNED)

Item Five: Le Lis Parsons Lace Back Tank in blue. Size XS

IMG_2985IMG_2984

First Impression: I was sure hoping that this wasn’t another maternity piece. Then I started to wonder if some pregnant girl in Louisiana was missing her maternity fixin’s? As soon as I tried this shirt on, I knew it was my keeper, not just because I didn’t want to blow a Jackson (not in THAT way, you guys!) But because I actually really like this top! It has the perfect amount of flowyness to it, and has a cute lace detail in the back. I did get a picture of the back, but I learned the hard way that its really hard to photo shop out your back fat when your standing in front of a shingled house. (Note to self: next time take pictures against a white wall, and start working out again… tomorrow) So for now you guys will just have to use your imagination. $38.00 (KEPT)

Okay so that sums it up for this FIX. I’m sure your thinking that because I only kept one item, that this box was a failure. But for me, It’s a success, Because It means another month’s mortgage can be paid (sorry Walmart) and it proves to me that I DO have the ability to send clothes back. ( I also have my first TRUNK CLUB coming in 2 days! So stay tuned for that review!)

Stitch Fix Review 1 & 2

Welcome Back!

So I am a member of this super exclusive club called Stitch Fix, It’s this clothing service that sets you up with your own personal stylist, and sends you 5 items of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and purses(you can opt out of shoes, jewelry, or purses if thats your purgative). I’ll tell you a little bit about the process and how to join this super exclusive club yourself.

* Note: all of these opinions are my own, I am not paid by Stitch Fix for this review, If you click on one of my links to sign up I will get a $25.00 referral credit and I just might possibly love you forever!

  1. Fill out your style profile: You can do this online, or download the app (for IOS users only). Filling out your style profile consists of answering a series of questions about your budget, size, style, how you like your clothes to fit, etc. You can get as detailed as picking colors or prints you don’t want your stylist to send, I personally ask for no jewelry and purses because I want only clothes and shoes, but guess what? You can change this info between every fix as your current needs change. In each fix you order, you can put a personal note to your stylist and let her know of an upcoming event that you want to be styled for, or if you like to live on the wild side, you can leave your note blank and see what you get!
  2. Link up a Pinterest style page(optional but recommended): Now, if your anything like me, this will be like a super fun OCD homework project. Start pinning your little heart out, and then your stylist can take a peek and see what your personal style is. You can also search Pinterest for  “Stitch Fix” items and you may just end up with something that you pinned- now isn’t that fun! Some advice I received and will pass along, is to add new pins before every fix of your current needs/wants. I personally have a Pinterest page with “current wants” “later wants”- like fall items I don’t need for summer right now, and “Stitch fix item’s I have kept”-to keep track of and what fix they came in- You will thank me later. I know the day will eventually come where I send an item back- I will make a board for this one as well so I can keep track of that too. – But again- this is just what I do, not necessary at all!
  3. Order your first fix: Stitch Fix is not a “subscription” service, meaning, that you can get your “fix” as much as every 2 weeks, or you can do it once and never look back. Your not stuck. I personally signed up for every 2 weeks because with a 3 year old, I haven’t gone shopping in a while and wanted to get my closet stocked up, but I will eventually go down to once month soon, or when my husband threatens divorce me for spending too much moolah. When you order your “fix” your card will be charged $20.00, but if you keep any of the items of clothing, then you will be credited the $20.00 “styling fee. If you love all 5 items, then you get 25% of the entire box! Now thats what I am talking about. In my first 2 fixes I LOVED 4/5 and just liked the 5th- but it was cheaper to keep everything than to send the one item back with the 5 item discount. So do the math before you send back because if they don’t work for you they can be good presents for a friend, or if your like me, there are a millions Stitch Fix buy/sell/trade groups on Facebook that you can sell to or buy from or trade if you choose to. This too has become addicting as hell! If you need help finding the boards on Facebook- message me and I will give you the links.
  4. Try everything on: When your beautiful box arrives at your door, its like christmas morning, its magical, and makes your heart pitter patter with excitement. Open that sucker up and start trying everything on. Stitch Fix Gives you 3 business days to decide what your going to keep and what you are going to send back. That way you can try everything on in the comfort of your own home, and style your items with pieces you already have in your closet. If your not in love with an item/ or all items, guess what, Stitch Fix provides you with a prepaid envelope to send any unwanted items back and you can just plop it in your own mailbox and send it on its way.
  5. Another cool factor about Stitch Fix is that- like wine, it gets better with every fix they send, the more feed back they receive from you ( you review all 5 items while checking out, based on fit, size, style, price, and leave honest opinions on each item they sent you.) Be brutally honest, it will really help them get your style down. If your whole fix- didn’t hit the mark- ask for a new stylist, if you LOVED everything you received, ask to keep the same stylist. Or leave it up to the Stitch Fix gods to decide your fate. On another side note: Stitch Fix customer service is AH-MAY-ZING! The fit is off and you want to exchange for another size? Email them and ask, if they have your requested item in stock, they will gladly exchange- again with free shippig both ways.

Ok, I should also note that I received my first 2 fixes right before I started this blog, so I am  hopping in my time travel machine (just a couple weeks) that way when my 3rd fix comes (later this week! eek!!) I can do another review. Please excuse my lack of decent pictures, when I took them I didn’t know that I would be doing a blog. I promise that my next review will have the pretty pictures, and standard “box on my doorstep” picture, even though I have it delivered to my work. Now let the fun begin…

Fix No. 1

IMG_2856 2

Dress: Gilli Viola Jersey Dress

First Item: Gilli Viola Jersey Dress- Kept

This dress is so soft, and It’s Black and White, and I love anything black and white so I HAD to keep it!! Although a long sleeve dress isn’t exactly what I was expecting to receive for the hot summer coming up, I am super happy with this dress, and I know that I will get some good use out of it. I love the detail at the waist, its super flattering, and I actually own a ton of “casual summer dresses” so it’s nice to have a conservative dress to add to my closet that I can easily dress up or down. So far so good.

Second Item: Eclair Pip Crew Neck Blouse- Kept

This shirt is a sheer white, with an almost chevrony stripey pattern on it. You definitely need to wear a cami under it, because it is absolutely see though. I love the details on this shirt, and the lace bottom. The only thing that I’m not in love with is the elastic at the end of the sleeves. I feel like if this shirt had regular sleeves, than it would be so much better, but they didn’t bother me enough to send it back. I can see myself wearing this under a blazer in the winter. It’s a great addition to my closet, and I have already worn it multiple times.

IMG_2857

Shirt: Eclair Pip crew neck Blouse   Jeans: Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean

Third Item: Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean- Kept

Just when I was about to ditch skinny jeans for my new(old) loves, boyfriend, boot cut, and Flare. These babies arrived at my doorstep and hugged me soooo tight, that I knew my love affair with skinny jeans wasn’t done just yet. I LOVE these jeans so much, I went online and bought a second pair. The one’s that came in my box <- (That sounds really bad) were a size 27p and for my short trunky legs, it is so hard to find short jeans, but these were just right. The wash is perfectly dark, and they are very stretchy so when I bought the second pair online I actually bought a 26p and they fit just as good, if not better. I’m so glad I bought a second pair because I literally wear these suckers every day.

Fourth Item: Daniel Rainn Estefany Lace Detail Split Neck Blouse- Kept

Seriously Stitch Fix, Do you have to have the longest names ever for your clothing items or what? Okay so normally I gravitate to more neutral colors, and as you will learn, I love black and white, especially love black and white stripes, but this bright orange shirt is just amazing. This is the perfect shirt for work, it looks dressy but not over done, and the material is light, but not see through. I am so picky about patterns, but I love the white hearts on this shirt, this is staying in my closet for a long time, or until my 3 year old spills something on it. You can totally dress this up or down and it can breathe life into a boring outfit.

IMG_2858

Shirt: Daniel Rainn Estefany Lace Detail Split neck Blouse  Jeans: Just black Adorra Skinny jean

Last Item of the first fix: Toms Avalon Slip on Sneaker- Kept

Like I mentioned above, I am a total pattern snob. While I was busy pinning away on my Pinterest board, I noticed that Stitch Fix had some crazy patterns out there, so I was sure to tell my stylist “NO CRAZY PATTERNS” but I guess that statement can have different meanings to anyone. These shoes, I like, I don’t love, but I know I will get some use out of, plus by keeping them I get 25% off of everything, so in the end its cheaper to keep the shoes then to send back.

IMG_2860

Shoes: Toms Avalon slip on sneaker

Final thoughts: For a first impression, Stitch Fix totally impressed me. As someone who likes to shop, but just doesn’t have much time, this service is really fun. I love the anticipation of wondering what is going to come, and it’s so great having pieces that are different from what everyone else around you is wearing. I’m just hoping that I’m not a sucker and can actually send clothes back if I’m not in love, because I can see this becoming an expensive habit.

Fix No. 2

IMG_2766

Skirt: 41Hawthorn Walt Skirt   Shirt: Papermoon Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse   Dog: Lazy Border Terrier

Items 1 & 2: 41Hawthorn Walt Skirt- Kept  Shirt: Papermoon Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse- Kept. I love love love this outfit. The skirt is Black and White stripes- which I am OBSESSED with Black and White stripes so I was going to cry if this didn’t fit right. Well it fit like a glove, So I didn’t have to grab a box of tissues. I normally don’t wear knee length skirts, just because I am so short, but I just love it on this skirt. The material is stretchy but thick enough to hide all the lumps and bumps I have. The shirt is the perfect white blouse, with the cutest “tulip” sleeves. My only complaint is that the shirt is just see through enough to where I have to wear a camisole under it. Besides that, this shirt is a staple that every girl should have in her closet. I’m just deathly afraid of staining it, so it hasn’t come of the hanger just yet. But as soon as I grow a pair, I will add it into my regular fashion rotation.

IMG_0281

Shirt: Papermoon Swane Keyhole Back Blouse  Jeans: Kut From the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean.

Items 3&4: Papermoon Swane Keyhole Back Blouse- Kept (reluctantly) and Kut From the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean- Kept. Sorry I didn’t get a better Picture of the pants, but they are an awesome boyfriend jean- with the perfect amount of distressing.  They came with a Cuff-fold, which is super cute, but I found that if I un-cuff them, they are the perfect length for me, and have a straight leg cut when un-cuffed. After owning these and wearing them a few times, I wish my stylist would have sent me a size down from what I normally wear because they stretch through the day and get kind of loose. The top I’m not in love with, but it was one of those “its cheaper to keep than send back with the discount” types of things (I’m catching onto your tricks Stitch Fix!). I feel like this shirt makes me look like a box. Its a HI-LOW shirt, but even on my short torso, the front is still a little shorter than it should be. The color is pretty and the print isn’t too wild, I should also note that there is a little keyhole opening in the back of the shirt that gives it a cute detail. I’m sure this would be cute with some white shorts, or white jeans, I know I will get some use out of it. (I feel like I am still trying to justify it in my head).

Item No. 5: Collective Concepts Mikoh Crochet Strap Top- Kept. This is one of those shirts that I wasn’t in love with at first but overtime it has totally grown on me. The print is pretty but not one I would normally gravitate for, but the pretty details of the shirt and the amazing fit just pulls everything together in one awesome little package. The straps of this tank are a thick crochet along with the top portion of the back of the shirt. There is also a double layer so at the bottom it has a super cute ruffle. The Top is just on the borderline of showing too much cleavage to be work appropriate, but I took the risk, and I got more compliments on this shirt, than I have on anything I have wore in a long time. I should also note that this is also a HI-LOW top as well.

IMG_2767

Tank: Collective Concepts Mikoh Crochet Strap top   Jeans: Kut From the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

So that sums up my first 2 “fixes”- I kept all 10 items- so either I’m a sucker and don’t have the will power to send clothes back, or my stylist has done a good job. I want to add that in my notes to my stylist I have been asking for neutrals, white jeans and casual dresses. Which has been totally ignored, but I have gotten some cute clothes anyways. After my first fix I got an email from Stitch Fix asking if I wanted to keep my same stylist ANNA, and I opted to, after my second fix, I didn’t get that email, So we’ll see how my third one turns out, because I’m thinking of trying someone new. If me and  Stitch Fix are going to have a long term relationship- She needs to listen to my needs, wants and learn who I really am inside.

Have you guys tried Stitch Fix? If so let me know what you think about it, and about your experience if you have switched stylists.

Until next time.

XOXO
